An ependymoma is a tumour of the brain and spinal cord caused by abnormal growth of the ependymal cells in the brain or spinal cord. Anaplastic ependymoma is a condition that can affect anyone at any age, but it is more common in children under the age of four.

Many sufferers of Anaplastic Ependymoma struggle because they feel that their disease doesn’t have the same level of awareness as more common cancers. Without a Ribbon is an Australian non-profit organisation that believes that rare cancers should never go unnoticed. We aim to provide a detailed set of resources and information for anyone suffering from rare cancers such as Anaplastic Ependymoma. We have recently created an Anaplastic Ependymoma resource page to help sufferers understand their disease. It covers the symptoms, available treatments and other important information.

We hope that this resource page will help you or a friend/family member to learn about their illness and aid them through their battle with the disease.
