Small cell carcinoma is a fast-growing type of lung cancer that tends to spread rapidly to other parts of the body. It typically originates in the bronchi, the main air passages in the lungs, and is more aggressive than other types of lung cancer. Under a microscope, the cancer cells appear small and round. Small cell carcinoma often spreads to areas such as the lymph nodes and other organs.
Many sufferers of Small Cell Carcinoma struggle because they feel that their disease doesn’t have the same level of awareness as more common cancers. Without a Ribbon is an Australian non-profit organisation that believes that rare cancers should never go unnoticed. We aim to provide a detailed set of resources and information for anyone suffering from cancers such as Small Cell Carcinoma. We have recently created a Small Cell Carcinoma resource page to help sufferers understand their disease. It covers the symptoms, available treatments and other important information.
We hope that this resource page will help you or a friend/family member to learn about their illness and aid them through their battle with the disease.
