A fibroma is a type of tumour (abnormal growth of tissues) originating from muscle cells or neuronal cells, affecting the posterior and anterior regions of the mediastinum. These tumours can be either benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous).

Many sufferers of Fibroma of Mediastinum struggle because they feel that their disease doesn’t have the same level of awareness as more common cancers. Without a Ribbon is an Australian non-profit organisation that believes that rare cancers should never go unnoticed. We aim to provide a detailed set of resources and information for anyone suffering from rare cancers such as Fibroma of Mediastinum. We have recently created an Fibroma of Mediastinum resource page to help sufferers understand their disease. It covers the symptoms, available treatments and other important information.

We hope that this resource page will help you or a friend/family member to learn about their illness and aid them through their battle with the disease.
