Chordoma is a rare bone cancer that originates from remnants of the notochord, a structure involved in spine formation during early development in the womb. Chordomas usually develop along the spine, commonly at the base of the skull or in the lower spine (sacrum). Though slow-growing, they can be aggressive and may invade nearby tissues.
Many sufferers of Chordoma struggle because they feel that their disease doesn’t have the same level of awareness as more common cancers. Without a Ribbon is an Australian non-profit organisation that believes that rare cancers should never go unnoticed. We aim to provide a detailed set of resources and information for anyone suffering from cancers such as Chordoma. We have recently created an Chordoma resource page to help sufferers understand their disease. It covers the symptoms, available treatments and other important information.
We hope that this resource page will help you or a friend/family member to learn about their illness and aid them through their battle with the disease.
