Angiosarcoma of the heart is an extremely rare and aggressive type of cancer that starts in the cells lining the blood vessels of the heart. These cells, called endothelial cells, normally help form the inner walls of blood vessels and control the flow of blood.

When they begin to grow uncontrollably, they form a tumour. This tumour most often appears in the right atrium (the upper right chamber of the heart), where it can interfere with normal blood flow and heart function.

Many sufferers of Angiosarcoma of the heart struggle because they feel that their disease doesn’t have the same level of awareness as more common cancers. Without a Ribbon is an Australian non-profit organisation that believes that rare cancers should never go unnoticed. We aim to provide a detailed set of resources and information for anyone suffering from cancers such as Angiosarcoma of the heart. We have recently created an Angiosarcoma of the heart resource page to help sufferers understand their disease. It covers the symptoms, available treatments and other important information.

We hope that this resource page will help you or a friend/family member to learn about their illness and aid them through their battle with the disease.
