Primary Tracheal Squamous Cell Carcinoma is a rare cancer that originates in the lining of the trachea, which is the windpipe connecting the throat to the lungs. It is a separate disease from lung squamous cell carcinoma, even though both arise from similar types of epithelial cells.

This tumour develops directly in the tracheal mucosa and can obstruct the airway as it grows.

Many sufferers of Primary Tracheal Squamous Cell Carcinoma struggle because they feel that their disease doesn’t have the same level of awareness as more common cancers. Without a Ribbon is an Australian non-profit organisation that believes that rare cancers should never go unnoticed. We aim to provide a detailed set of resources and information for anyone suffering from cancers such as Primary Tracheal Squamous Cell Carcinoma. We have recently created an Primary Tracheal Squamous Cell Carcinoma resource page to help sufferers understand their disease. It covers the symptoms, available treatments and other important information.

We hope that this resource page will help you or a friend/family member to learn about their illness and aid them through their battle with the disease.
