Vulvar embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma is a rare type of cancer that can affect both boys and girls in early childhood. It often presents as a vaginal mass in girls under the age of eight, leading to vaginal bleeding. In addition to vulvar rhabdomyosarcoma, other forms of rhabdomyosarcoma can develop in the head and neck, extremities (arms, legs), genitalia, and urinary system.
Many sufferers of Vulvar embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma struggle because they feel that their disease doesn’t have the same level of awareness as more common cancers. Without a Ribbon is an Australian non-profit organisation that believes that rare cancers should never go unnoticed. We aim to provide a detailed set of resources and information for anyone suffering from cancers such as Vulvar embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma. We have recently created an Vulvar embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma resource page to help sufferers understand their disease. It covers the symptoms, available treatments and other important information.
We hope that this resource page will help you or a friend/family member to learn about their illness and aid them through their battle with the disease.
