High-Grade Astrocytoma with Piloid Features (HGAP) is a rare type of brain tumour. It has features of both slow-growing (low-grade) and fast-growing (high-grade) tumours. Because of this mixed nature, it can be difficult to diagnose. Doctors often need advanced tests, including genetic testing, to confirm it.

Many sufferers of High-Grade Astrocytoma with Piloid Features struggle because they feel that their disease doesn’t have the same level of awareness as more common cancers. Without a Ribbon is an Australian non-profit organisation that believes that rare cancers should never go unnoticed. We aim to provide a detailed set of resources and information for anyone suffering from cancers such as High-Grade Astrocytoma with Piloid Features. We have recently created an High-Grade Astrocytoma with Piloid Features resource page to help sufferers understand their disease. It covers the symptoms, available treatments and other important information.

We hope that this resource page will help you or a friend/family member to learn about their illness and aid them through their battle with the disease.
