Epithelial-myoepithelial carcinoma (EMC) is a rare and slow-growing tumour that mainly affects the salivary glands, especially the parotid gland. It is made up of two types of cells: epithelial cells and myoepithelial cells. While EMC is typically low-grade (meaning it grows slowly), in some cases, it can become more aggressive, come back after treatment, or spread to other areas.

Many sufferers of Epithelial-myoepithelial carcinoma  struggle because they feel that their disease doesn’t have the same level of awareness as more common cancers. Without a Ribbon is an Australian non-profit organisation that believes that rare cancers should never go unnoticed. We aim to provide a detailed set of resources and information for anyone suffering from cancers such as Epithelial-myoepithelial carcinoma . We have recently created an Epithelial-myoepithelial carcinoma resource page to help sufferers understand their disease. It covers the symptoms, available treatments and other important information.

We hope that this resource page will help you or a friend/family member to learn about their illness and aid them through their battle with the disease.
