Diffuse Idiopathic Pulmonary Neuroendocrine Cell Hyperplasia, commonly known as DIPNECH, is a rare lung condition characterised by abnormal overgrowth of neuroendocrine cells within the airways. It is considered a pre-malignant or early neoplastic condition that can progress to neuroendocrine tumours (NETs) of the lung.

It primarily affects middle-aged women who are non-smokers. The condition involves widespread small nodules in the lungs caused by proliferation of neuroendocrine cells.

Many sufferers of DIPNECH struggle because they feel that their disease doesn’t have the same level of awareness as more common cancers. Without a Ribbon is an Australian non-profit organisation that believes that rare cancers should never go unnoticed. We aim to provide a detailed set of resources and information for anyone suffering from cancers such as DIPNECH. We have recently created an DIPNECH resource page to help sufferers understand their disease. It covers the symptoms, available treatments and other important information.

We hope that this resource page will help you or a friend/family member to learn about their illness and aid them through their battle with the disease.
